Why My Cats Will Not Be Outside Around Hallowe’en

I love my two black kitties - so nobody is going to be mean to my two little witches cats on the 31st!

It’s October! Black cats are often associated with being spooky, but this means they have a negative stereotype associated with them.

Some people take the color of the cat into heavy consideration when looking for a new companion. This also goes for dogs! It’s a sad fact that black dogs and cats have a hard time finding homes.

To celebrate the awesomeness of black kitties, we would like to do a little showcase of black adoptable kitties! We also want to adopt to some shelters that are taking care of black kitties!
If you would like to nominate a kitty, please reblog with a link, or email us at

Picking Up My Cats - A Warning

Salem, the elder male cat, likes to be picked up most of the time and will happily let me snuggle him. He is bloody heavy though! Yet, he won’t sit on my lap…

Minx, his little half-sister, will sit on my lap. Even if there is a laptop there! But pick her up and this picture is the result. I have many scars on my neck, shoulders, stomach and (this week) face because I still try! She is a bit of a scaredy cat really, so it is quite amazing she’s lap cat. Although even that is just my lap… she very rarely sits on Phee’s!

Somehow, the other day I compared my cat, Peanuts (a fat, grumpy, anti social hissing furball) to Fenris. And it made sense. So this happened.

What a good way to waste my time. :D

Treatment for Acrophobia?

I am afraid of heights. Apparently you should meet it head on to overcome phobias… though I think this really would be a bridge too far (literally). In theory, I’d LOVE to cross it. In practice, I’m not sure I’d even make the first twenty metres!

Some say that the best way to overcome a phobia is to face the fear head-on. They also say this should be done gradually, so this swaying glass-bottomed bridge might be best left for the advanced stages of conquering acrophobia. The photos alone are enough to make our palms sweaty.

The hair-raising suspension bridge is located 180 meters (590 feet) above a valley floor in Pingjiang County, in the Hunan province of southern China. Suspended between two rocky peaks, the bridge measures 300 meters (984 feet) long and, yes, it really does tend to sway in the breeze.

But don’t worry about freaking out before you even get halfway across. Specially trained staff are on hand to assist visitors in need of emotional support and encouragement in order to complete the thrilling/terrifying journey across the glass bridge.

Yun Ku, a 23-year-old who did the walk, said: “I was fine at first but by the time I was a third of the way across I just went weak at the knees. I had to go back when it started to move and needed a lot of coaxing from my boyfriend. I thought I was going just melt on the spot. My legs wouldn’t work.”

Steampunk Kitty Run
Another thing to put in my house for the cats (along with the mini bed and Mario cat house). Minx would love it…

Just Imagine…

This is amazing giffage!

Imagine how it would look if the Orion nebula is only four light years away - the distance the nearest star is to us, instead of 1,300 light years. It would be so bright that we wouldn’t be aware of the dark sky. We wouldn’t see other stars. The whole world would be the Orion nebula and the sun.

Personal Cokes

Ah, a brilliant use of the promo!

“A little bit of Monica in my life,
A little bit of Erica by my side,
A little bit of Rita is all I need,
A little bit of Tina is what I see,
A little bit of Sandra in the sun,
A little bit of Mary all night long,
A little bit of Jessica, here I am…”

If you don’t know this reference, you’re definitely too young for me.
